All Mashpee Recreation pickleball lessons are taught by Straight-Up Pickleball, founded by Laura and Karl Uggerholt.  Straight-Up's experienced and caring Coaching Team offer comprehensive pickleball lessons, allowing players to advance through a consistent curriculum at their own pace.  The instructors are excited about the 2025 season and look forward to sharing what they know about a sport they love with great people ! Are you interested in more personalized coaching with a fellow player ? If so, this one hour coaching session is perfect for you ! The lesson will be led by a fun and knowledgeable Straight-Up Coach and will allow full, focused and personalized instruction for 2 players signing up for a lesson taught together (one slot).  The participants will have the opportunity to focus on strategies and mechanics leaving the hour with an improvement plan and a sense of accomplishment. Note : The "Two and a Coach" lessons are for players who already know how to play pickleball.  It is recommended those interested in learning pickleball for the first time sign up for a Beginner Clinic or two "Two and a Coach" lessons.

It's all the rage ! Minor League Pickleball is a fun and competitive team event !  Participants will be organized by skill level and put into teams of 4.  Teams will go head-to-head against each other in varying doubles matchups. There is sure to be some ribbing and heckling, of course ! AND Straight-Up Pickleball will teach you how to rally score.  This Minor League event will be a great way to get to know people and improve your game !

5:45 PM - 6:45 PM    Line Dancing Fall 2025 - Line Dancing Summer 2025
Intro to Beginner LIne Dancing Come to this 30 minute tutorial session (6 classes) to learn the BASICS of how to line dance.  Get comfortable with the step names & how to count/move to the rhythm.  You will learn popular footwork combinations & dance terms to be able to follow instructor cues well.  This will help you when you are out line dancing in public or in a more advanced class. This class is slow-paced and a great place to ask questions if needed.  It is only 30 minutes long in order to not be overwhelming and will start promptly by 5:15 PM.  Please note:  There is a faster paced more advanced class immediately after this timeframe.   If you'd like to stay or attend that class, you must register separately for "Line Dancing with Liz" at 5:45 PM.   Line Dancing with Liz Mondays Sept 15 - Oct 27 (No Class Oct 13). 5:45PM-6:45PM  This is not an absolute beginner class.   **See notes below for the 30 minute "Basic Instruction Line Dance Tutorial Class" available prior to this class time. Experienced fitness and dance instructor Liz Saunders will be teaching basic-intermediate line dancing for a 6 -class series. Safety is a priority and you will be provided all necessary equipment (board, paddle, leash, life jacket) and instruction on how to handle the board and paddle safely. Plan to spend about 2 hours on the water. Intro to Beginner LIne Dancing Come to this 30 minute tutorial session (6 classes) to learn the BASICS of how to line dance.  Get comfortable with the step names & how to count/move to the rhythm.  You will learn popular footwork combinations & dance terms to be able to follow instructor cues well.  This will help you when you are out line dancing in public or in a more advanced class. This class is slow-paced and a great place to ask questions if needed.  It is only 30 minutes long in order to not be overwhelming and will start promptly by 5:15 PM.  Please note:  There is a faster paced more advanced class immediately after this timeframe.   If you'd like to stay or attend that class, you must register separately for "Line Dancing with Liz" at 5:45 PM.   Line Dancing with Liz Mondays Sept 15 - Oct 27 (No Class Oct 13). 5:45PM-6:45PM  This is not an absolute beginner class.   **See notes below for the 30 minute "Basic Instruction Line Dance Tutorial Class" available prior to this class time. Experienced fitness and dance instructor Liz Saunders will be teaching basic-intermediate line dancing for a 6 -class series. Learn the best way to move with your partner, make smart shots, and control the pace of the game. Sign up as an individual or with a friend; all players benefit from learning these strategies since partners change from game to game. Option: follow-up with “Play with the Coaches” to continue working on implementation.Skills Clinic: Fast Hands - “Fast Hands” are more than simply having great hand-eye coordination. Players with “Fast Hands” know where to stand, how to hold their paddles, and how to quickly execute push volleys, punch, volleys, and resets. This clinic will teach students to prepare for a “Fast Hands” reaction and start creating new muscle memory to bring on the best shot. Intro to Beginner LIne Dancing Come to this 30 minute tutorial session (6 classes) to learn the BASICS of how to line dance.  Get comfortable with the step names & how to count/move to the rhythm.  You will learn popular footwork combinations & dance terms to be able to follow instructor cues well.  This will help you when you are out line dancing in public or in a more advanced class. This class is slow-paced and a great place to ask questions if needed.  It is only 30 minutes long in order to not be overwhelming and will start promptly by 5:15 PM.  Please note:  There is a faster paced more advanced class immediately after this timeframe.   If you'd like to stay or attend that class, you must register separately for "Line Dancing with Liz" at 5:45 PM.   Line Dancing with Liz Mondays Sept 15 - Oct 27 (No Class Oct 13). 5:45PM-6:45PM  This is not an absolute beginner class.   **See notes below for the 30 minute "Basic Instruction Line Dance Tutorial Class" available prior to this class time. Experienced fitness and dance instructor Liz Saunders will be teaching basic-intermediate line dancing for a 6 -class series. All Mashpee Recreation pickleball lessons are taught by Straight-Up Pickleball, founded by Laura and Karl Uggerholt.  Straight-Up's experienced and caring Coaching Team offer comprehensive pickleball lessons, allowing players to advance through a consistent curriculum at their own pace.  The instructors are excited about the 2025 season and look forward to sharing what they know about a sport they love with great people ! Straight-Up Pickleball is excited to introduce new 3 hour Boot Camps for players serious about improving ! Here is how the fun will unfold : complete a multi-faceted assessment on two skills while being videoed, receive individualized coaching points through video review, improve each skill with focused exercises and application games, wrap up with a final assessment.  The camp will be structured to bring out the best in each student playing off of individual's experience levels. 5:45 PM - 6:45 PM    Line Dancing Fall 2025 - Line Dancing Summer 2025
Intro to Beginner LIne Dancing Come to this 30 minute tutorial session (6 classes) to learn the BASICS of how to line dance.  Get comfortable with the step names & how to count/move to the rhythm.  You will learn popular footwork combinations & dance terms to be able to follow instructor cues well.  This will help you when you are out line dancing in public or in a more advanced class. This class is slow-paced and a great place to ask questions if needed.  It is only 30 minutes long in order to not be overwhelming and will start promptly by 5:15 PM.  Please note:  There is a faster paced more advanced class immediately after this timeframe.   If you'd like to stay or attend that class, you must register separately for "Line Dancing with Liz" at 5:45 PM.   Line Dancing with Liz Mondays Sept 15 - Oct 27 (No Class Oct 13). 5:45PM-6:45PM  This is not an absolute beginner class.   **See notes below for the 30 minute "Basic Instruction Line Dance Tutorial Class" available prior to this class time. Experienced fitness and dance instructor Liz Saunders will be teaching basic-intermediate line dancing for a 6 -class series. Participants should feel comfortable moving to the beat and the knowledge of basic dance steps, terms and combos such as step-touches, jazz squares, pivots, grapevine, shuffles/Lindy, etc. There will be some fun Basic, Improver and Intermediate levels routines taught to music.   -Progression Format - Each week we will DANCE the learned ones & LEARN some new ones!-Some may be more challenging at a faster pace.  -Please be prepared to move the entire time in comfortable clothes & smooth bottom shoes (dance socks over sneakers or dance shoes may work well).  -Cowboy boots are welcome.  -BRING WATER.  -Most routines will be available on YouTube to practice more, on your own time.   -Practicing on your own can be the key to having great success & feeling comfortable in this class.   ** NEED HELP learning the steps for line dancing?  Register for the 30 minute "Basic Instruction Line Dance Tutorial Class with Liz" at 5:15 PM on Mondays for the same session dates (Sept 15 - Oct 27).
